A good book that explains the ties between music with cultures

A good book that explains the ties between music with cultures, mathematics, weaving, crafts, and other examples. Nicely diagrammed patterns and illustrated connections to instruments, performances, and people. Very good explanations of patterns and beats.

My one negative comment is that most links to the audio examples are out-of-date. Links point to vague sites. Emails to Bembo Music or the author are not answered very quickly. I hope replies here can remedy the situation and allow customers to hear what is explained in the text.

Great book, a deep study of clave.

Fantastic book which gives a detailed insight into all aspects of Cuban clave. It is unusual in that it presents an almost mathematical, geometrica perpective on clave and its African sources. It is presented in a beautiful, large, paperback volume that seems designed as a teaching text, perfect for students or teachers. One thing to note. There are no cds with the volume and one must purchase extra mp3s from Amazon if one wants to hear the musical examples.

She has been the recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship, the Helen Merrill Emerging Playwrights Award, the Whiting Writers' Award, the PEN Center Award for a midcareer playwright, the Feminist Press's Forty Under Forty Award, and the 2010 Lilly Award. A must for an Anthropology major

Great overview of the possibilities for applying your studies to the field/domain of your interest, or for the anthropology student who is unsure of what to do with their anthropology degrees. I myself am still searching for my exact niche but this book helped me learn about myself and my interests, and helped me discover my interest in industrial anthropology and the way workers are viewed and treated by their employers in the workplace. This book will allow you to make connections to your studies of theory from the real life social issues surrounding you that you just may end up focusing your career to resolving.

Great book for learning about how anthropology is applied in various fields but the physical book is a mess. I bought a brand new copy and when I began reading page 7/8 had already fallen out. This happened to various other pages throughout the rest of my readings and it was very distracting

Received the Kindle version yesterday and stayed up till 3am finishing it. Explains so much about the FBI investigation and Comey.

I knew the Obama's and Clintons hated each other but not how deep it went. Obama also hates Comey ("worst mistake of his Presidency") and initially wanted FBI to recommend indictment... But he couldn't convince Biden to run. Thus the flip and reluctant phony endorsement for Hillary. Now BO is campaigning for her as if he's running for a third term.

Hillary cusses like a drunken sailor in private and the book reveals the dysfunctional Clinton family and the true nature of Chelsea - Wow. And of course there's Hillary's weird relationship with
Huma...

It's been a long time since I read a book in one day. Seeing what Trump is up against (Trump covered briefly), it will be a miracle if he gets elected. But I still believe in miracles...

No Indictment??????

I started this book yesterday, and finished it this morning. Once you start it, you will find yourself not wanting to put it down.
I wanted not only answers, but what went on behind the scenes as to "WHY" no indictment.
I was one of many who watched James Comey make his case in listing everything his team of investigators found out during the year long investigation of Hillary's home server, and her reckless mishandling of some of our Country's most sensitive Classified info, along with her personal stuff.
When Comey concluded that there would be no indictment, my mouth totally dropped. I wanted to know how could he reach this conclusion??
When you read this book, the author lays out precise interviews of those close to the Clintons, and events as they unfolded.
I was so angry at Comey, and thought he lacked the courage and "other" things (ahem) to appear as to not standing up for the Laws, and caving in to political pressure. By reading this book, you will find out exactly "who" and "why" Comey had to do a total 180 and allow Hillary a pass.
I'm still angry at Comey for not doing the right thing, and standing for the Laws and not Politics! Hillary brought this on herself, and it isn't a right -wing conspiracy, political theater, or waste of taxpayers money, to get to the truth. We need answers, and not have those close to Hillary taking the "5th", Whenever, I hear that, I can't help but think "what are they hiding?"
Anyone who doesn't agree, needs to see how dangerous it is for America to go down this road. It shouldn't matter if you are a Democrat,
NO ONE SHOULD BE ABOVE THE LAW!!!!!

We all know that door to door sales are about as tough as it gets. If you are looking for a great guide in helping you implement an effective door to door sales program, this book is a must read. Very insightful on the process and how to execute a solid system for your sales team. No fluff. Best book on the subject.

This book as helped me grow my business over 100% last year!! I've purchased about 7 copies thus far including the kindle version and just order another 6 copies. I now require everyone in my business to read this book multiple times and to really understand every line. I just got finished attending Lenny's annual conference which takes his knowledge to the next level, only wish I would have picked this up and took his class 3 years ago!!
