A template for culture enagagement

The problem with watching these DVDs while exercising--difficult to run and write at the same time. Wallnau gives plenty of material to write notes about and then to question how to fold it into personal and corporate vision.
It gave me a template to understand the role of nations, kingdoms and The Kingdom of God.
Wallnau gives action points for Kingdom engagement of culture as a follower of Jesus the Lord. He lays out exactly what a "king" and "priest" is that the Church is called to be. He defines for the 21st Century Disciple what our calling is, what obstacles we face and re-symbolizes biblical phrases that we've taken for granted.
I don't know if I buy into all his eschatology, but he produces a scenario of ministry and full employment of Christians in ministry while using their passions, circumstances and life events.
This is pragmatic--it shows how spiritual gifts and witness is not limited to the local church. It lays groundwork how the believer can live out his/her sphere of influence and span of care. Living and working in the arena of our skills and gift-mix.

A study of innovasion under fire

The German Army of World War I created some of the most basic principles of what we call today 3rd Generation Warfare, which many armies worldwide are still unable to implement or even understand its essence. The book is a great contribution to the history of the innovative stormtroop tactics, how they came to prominence, what kind of problems they solved and why the Germans were the first among the belligerents to find such revolutionary solutions. The focus of the book is not so much on «assault battalions» but on their tactics, although the various personalities are well covered. Gudmundsson presents also some examples of battles on the Western and Eastern Front (First Ypres, Cambrai, Kaiserschlacht, Riga, Caporetto etc.) in a clear and fascinating way and gives ample evidence of the good results that the German Army reaped from its new doctrine. I found most interesting the part about the nature of German delegation of authority and the culture of personal iniative cultivated among the NCOs and the junior officers. It is one of the best «force multipliers» ever conceived! There are no photographs in the book, only a few diagrams and also a few primitive and rather crude maps, but the text is worth the money.

This is and excellent text on German Infantry tactics of WWI (1914-1918). The Germans were always innovators when it applied to warfare, in WWI with the trench war at a stale mate the Germans formed these elite infantry "Stormtroop" units to infiltrate and breakthrough the lines to make way for their follow on troops. In this highly detailed account of the tactics employed by these Stormtrooper you will read how they were employed in mountain and fortress warfare, how they were organized and their special assault units. It is amazing to see a lot of these types of tactics are still employed today.

An outstanding dissection of the tactics and organization that the German Army used in order to overcome the stalemate caused by trench warfare. The author clearly shows how the Sturmtruppen, utilizing surface and gap style tactics were able to achieve tactical success. The best book I have read so far this year.

This book is an example of what is all too infrequently available to mental health professionals. This blending of theory, research, and clinical experience is a true example of the scientist-practitioner model of mental health practice. Dr. Kuehnle first reviews pertinent research in the areas of developmental psychology, cognitive psychology, and clinical psychology and makes clear the implications of theory and empirical findings for the clinical evaluator. She then reviews the sexual abuse and sexual abuse evaluation literature, and offers empirically informed and practical guidelines and recommendations for the clinician examining children who are suspected of being sexually abused. Given its format and content areas, this volume will be of great value to both highly experienced and less experienced mental health professionals working in this field. --Randy K. One of the Most Helpful In Assessing Allegations of Abuse

Of all the books addressing this complex area in Child Custody Evaluation, this text is the one I found most helpful. The author's use of nine hypothesis for testing the information gathered in the evaluation is the central theme in using this text. Allegations of child abuse in family law conflict are some of the most sensitive and important questions an evaluator ever faces. The stakes are very high for everyone, especially the children. This text has a very rich array of current research and demonstrates a comprehensive and insightful knowledge of this field. In completing a recent evaluation, I found this text extrordinarily helpful.

The Best Text in thhis Field

Assessing Allegations of Child Sexual Abuse is easily one of the best researched and practical texts in this field. In an arena fraught with landmines, Dr. Kuehnle provides a balanced roadmap for assessing these allegations and protecting children. I particularily like and value the nine hypotheses she uses as a framework for analysing the data and making a balanced, thoughtful recommendation.
Of all the many texts I have read in this field, this one is clearly the best.
