What a fun short read

This was just a little something to revisit older characters. I absolutely loved revisiting Seth & Leah and Tilly & her men. Overall it was a short but enjoyable read. If you are looking for a little pick-me-up, then go for this.
I can't stress enough how much I enjoyed reading about the continuation of the lives of all of the characters.

Simply amazing!

Oh how I love the kinky little family that is called The Suncoast Society! It was so refreshing to get a glimpse at all my favorite couples and even some new scenes with them all. I love, love, loved seeing more of Seth and Leah. I love the playfulness of the characters along with the humor. Their story started this journey for me and I can't get enough of them. Tymber is such a smooth writer that you just get lost in the story until it's over and then you have this big book hangover, wondering what you are going to do with yourself because obviously you can't read anything else simple because you can't stop getting lost in the story you just finished. If you haven't read any of the Suncoast Society yet, you should totally pick up one today, it is quite simply amazing!

When a group of kinky people celebrate Christmas together, nothing is sacred. Even Frosty the Snowman is violated in deliciously perverted ways. In this story, the naughty girls and boys receive appropriate gifts from Santa and his ho ho hos. This book should not be read as a standalone. It is best to read this book only after reading the 12 books prior. Otherwise, the characters and their sexual fun will not be as meaningful.

Seth and Leah host the party at their house. This couple has been through a lot together and this is the first Christmas where they are recovered enough to be able to celebrate it with more than a handful of intimate friends.

This story is filled with hawt kinky sex. This is the kind of play party I want to attend. I'd even be happy as just a voyeur. Each kinky scene is panty-wetting and tops the previous scene. The threesome scenes are my favourite. With all of the threesome scenes including mouthwatering m/m/f sex, what is not to love about this book? Warning, if a sex toy is not handy whilst reading this book, it is recommended to put the book down, grab a toy and towel before reading on.

Ms. Dalton does a great job of describing how a play party can be. She shows how all sorts of people, age and sexual orientation can have fun in an open space. She is inventive with the games and she demonstrates how a closely knit community come together for a great time even if their kinks are not all the same. For those who enjoy the characters from the previous books in this series, this is one not to miss. All the favourite characters are here and they are down to…party. Recommended for kinky readers who want to enjoy a good time.

About the Author
Gore Vidal was born in 1925 at the United States Military Academy at West Point. His first novel, Williwaw, written when he was nineteen years old and serving in the Army, appeared in the spring of 1946. Since then he has written twenty-three novels, five plays, many screenplays, short stories, well over two hundred essays, and a memoir.Jay Parini (born 1948) is an American writer and academic. Among his works of fiction and criticism are The Last Station, John Steinbeck, and Benjamin's Crossing. Parini is Gore Vidal's literary executor and a regular contributor to various journals and newspapers, including The Chronicle of Higher Education and The Guardian (U.K.). In 1976, he cofounded New England Review, and he has taught at Middlebury College since 1982. He lives in Vermont.

Very Puzzling, Though New Readers May Enjoy

It all comes down to what you want and what you have read.

For those who are exploring the vast depth of essays penned by Gore Vidal, this volume - edited by Jay Parini - is a nice primer.

But 21 of the 24 selections appeared in the 1993 Random House collection, United States: Essays 1952-1992, with a pair of recent political essays - Black Tuesday (2001) and State of the Union, 2004 (2004) - easily found in other settings.

Ultimately, this is a very puzzling release and what appears to be a slick means to reissue what Parini feels is the best material from a massive volume - 114 pieces - published 15 years ago.

Selected Essays of Gore Vidal

I knew Mr. Vidal was a erudite, witty and entertaining writer having read many of his historical novels, and this collection confirms that. The downfall is that many of the authors, works, and subjects under discussion are from so long ago that much of the context is lost and with it the significance of the writing. For, instance, there are two long articles about the French New Novel, the hip thing from the 50's and 60's. I happen to have read several novels by one of the authors being addressed, so had some inkling of what is going on, but for most readers it would be a thicket filled with unknown names and criticism aimed at a mysterious target. So beware - if you buy the book, you'll end up skipping parts of it.

As may be expected somewhat uneven essays by Gore spanning decades . He is always entertaining and frequently quite erudite but he is much too harsh on John Updike and the Kennedys. Here's hoping he lives on for many more years and books.

John P. Hoffmann is Professor of Sociology at Brigham Young University. His research interests include the etiology of juvenile delinquency and drug use over the life course. His research has appeared in Criminology, The Journal of Quantitative Criminology, and other journals.

This is probably one of the best books that I've ordered in a long time!
The pictures in this book are awesome and soo unique.

Each time you open this book you can create a different story, not only that but each page could be their own mini story. I have 6 niece and nephews all under the age of 10 and they love this book!
This is also an excellent book for any age.

About the Author
Paul Silverstone is an internationally recognized naval authority known for his many books and articles on warships. He is author of US Warships of WWII and editor of the naval notes column of Warship International, the quarterly journal of the international Naval Research Organization.

Comprehensive but Overpriced

This book contains an extremely comprehensive listing of all U. S. Navy ships of the post-WW II era. Some of their characterisitcs and elements of their history, including final disposition, are provided. Most of this information appears well-researched, and I did not see any obvious errors. Much of the descriptive information seems to be from officially released data and is not necessarily totally accurate, but this is not unreasonable for a book meant for open publication. I found a few instances where some information, such as speed for older ships no longer in commission, is not correct and probably was derived from earlier public relations releases. One could say that the author should have updated this material, but it really is not that much of a detriment to the overall contents of the book.

The real problem is the quality of the photographs. Most are small (1/6 of a page) and are of mediocre quality from a reproduction perspective. In addition, I would have expected a more comprehensive set of photos depicting all ship classes and sub-classes covered in the book. The $150.00 cover price demands significantly better illustrations.

The author, Paul Silverstone, has written many books on naval ships over the past 40 years or so, some of which already cover a good portion of the information contained in this book and cost far less with better photos. His knowledge and talent would have been better served with a better produced book.

In summary, this book has a wealth of information and has value as a reference document. The issue is its value for the price.
